Baggage
The baggage allowance per passenger (adult or child over 2 years of age) as well as excess baggage fees on Air Mauritius flights between Mauritius and Europe (including flights from/to Europe on Air Mauritius/Air France via Paris CDG) are as follows:

BAGGAGE DIMENSIONS


Each piece of baggage should not exceed 158 cm (Length + Width + Height). For oversized baggage exceeding 158 cm, a fee of USD 300 (from Mauritius) or EUR 300 (from Europe) will be charged.

BAGGAGE WEIGHT


On European routes (excluding Paris), for the 1st piece, no fee will be charged if baggage weight exceeds 23 kg up to a maximum of 30 kg. On Paris route, for any excess weight from 23 kg up to a maximum of 32 kg per piece, a fee will be charged as follows:

Paris to Mauritius - EUR 100
Mauritius to Paris- USD 100
On all European routes (including Paris), for any excess weight of the 2nd and 3rd pieces from 23 kg up to a maximum of 32 kg per piece, an additional fee (over and above the basic fee for the 2nd and 3rd piece weighing up to 23 kg as per the above table) will be charged as follows:

Europe to Mauritius (except from London) - EUR 100
London to Mauritius - GBP 85
Mauritius to Europe - USD 100

Any piece of baggage weighing over 32 kg will not be accepted at check-in and will have to be sent by freight. Alternatively, the passenger can transfer any excess to an extra bag and pay the applicable fee for it.

Kestrelflyer Gold & Silver cardholders


Kestrelflyer Gold & Silver cardholders will be entitled to one free additional piece of luggage up to a maximum of 23 kg, irrespective of class of travel. This additional allowance will be given upon presentation of card at the airport. This free additional piece applies to the second piece of luggage (for Economy Class) and the third piece of luggage (for Business Class). Applicable rates will be charged for any piece of luggage over and above the free pieces allowed.

Students


Students travelling on basis of Student fares will be entitled to a second free additional piece of luggage up to a maximum of 23 kg. The additional allowance will be mentioned on the ticket. Applicable rates will be charged for any piece of luggage over and above the free pieces allowed.
Students who are Kestrelflyer cardholders and are already allowed two pieces on their ticket, will not be entitled to a third free additional piece at check-in on all Europe routes except the Paris route, where they will be allowed a third piece upon presentation of card at the airport.

Seaman


Seamen traffic travelling on Seaman's fares will be entitled to a second free additional piece of luggage up to a maximum of 23 kg. The additional allowance will be specified on ticket. Applicable rates will be charged for any piece of luggage over and above the free pieces allowed. In case they are also Kestrelflyer cardholders, they are not entitled to a further extra piece at check-in.

Passengers travelling with SO (Seat Only) fares


Passengers originating from France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium and Luxembourg and travelling on the Paris route on the basis of SO (Seat Only) fares are entitled to a second free additional piece of luggage up to a maximum of 23 kg. The additional allowance will be mentioned on the ticket. Applicable rates will be charged for any piece of luggage over and above the free pieces allowed. In case they are also Kestrelflyer cardholders they will be allowed an additional third piece (23kg) upon presentation of card at the airport.

Passengers originating from UK and Germany and travelling on the London route on the basis of SO (Seat Only) fares are entitled to one piece of luggage only up to a maximum of 23 kg and this will be specified on their tickets. They will be allowed a tolerance of up 7 kg in Economy Class on this first piece at the airport. In case such passengers are Kestrelflyer Gold or Kestrelflyer Silver cardholders they will be allowed an additional piece of luggage up to a maximum of 23 kg at check-in upon presentation of their card at the airport.

Reunion to Paris

From Reunion to Paris CDG, the baggage allowance is 23 kg per piece. For the 2nd piece up to 23 kg a fee of EUR 55 will be charged. For the 3rd piece up to 23 kg, a fee of EUR 200 will be charged. For any excess weight from 23 kg up to a maximum of 32 kg per piece, a fee of EUR 100 will be charged.

Europe to Australia and vice versa

For passengers from Europe to Australia, the rate of EUR 200 will be charged for 2nd piece up to 23 kg. For third piece up to 23 kg, the rate of EUR 300 will be charged. For any excess weight from 23 kg to a maximum of 32kg per piece of baggage, the rate of EUR 100 will be charged.
For passengers from Australia to Europe, the excess baggage rate will be AUD 20 per kg.

Antananarivo, South Africa to Europe

From Antananarivo or South Africa to Europe, for the 2nd piece up to 23 kg, a fee of USD 110 will be charged. For the 3rd piece up to 23 kg, a fee of USD 200 will be charged. For any excess weight from 23 kg up to a maximum of 32 kg per piece, a fee of USD 100 will be charged.
