Rodrigues Island :Consignments destined for Rodrigues must be
customs cleared at Plaisance Mauritius.
Forklifts for loading/unloading of trucks – 3000 kg.
Highloaders for loading/unloading of aircrafts – 14000 kg.
If not cleared on arrival, goods are stored at Air Mauritius
Import Warehouse for a time limit of 2 months.
Cold Storage available at airport:
- Storage of flowers: usable capacity 518m3
- Storage of fruit: usable capacity 518m3
- Storage of meat and fish: usable capacity 330m3
- Storage of medicinal products: usable capacity 47m3
- Storage of vegetables: usable capacity 270m3

At airport through a clearing agent. On request immediate clearance possible for urgent consignments against deposit of Customs duties. 15% VAT and other local charges.
- Fax copies of invoices and AWBs are accepted by Customs + deposit of MUR 20,000.
- Originals must be produced within 15 days (MUR 20,000 refundable).
- Monday through Friday 09.00 – 16.00 hrs.
- Saturday 09.00 – 12.00 hrs.
Clearance outside Customs hours possible against payment of Customs supervision fee.

No Import Permit required, except for some restricted items e.g. pharmaceutical products and foodstuffs.
Marketable samples of value not exceeding MUR 500 are duty free. AWB and invoice should clearly indicate consignment consists of a shipment of samples.
It is recommended that shippers ensure that their consignments
satisfy all local regulations before exporting to Mauritius.
Health Certificate
Import Permit from Ministry of Agro Industry & Food Security, Division of Veterinary Services at Reduit, required in advance
Cats and dogs: Quarantine at consignee's expense, for a period of 1 to 3 months depending on country of origin.
Note:
The Ministry may order any animal to be kept under observation at a quarantine station for such period as he thinks fit.
Phytosanitary Certificate
Plant Import Permit from Ministry of Agro Industry & Food Security, National Plant Protection Office at Reduit, required in advance
