There are strict rules and controls on what food products you can bring into the UK. This is due to the fact that food products can carry pests and diseases, which can devastate the environment, agricultural and horticultural industries. The following food items are prohibited to enter to the UK: Meat or Dairy products.
Furthermore UK authorities are carrying random checks on all carriers entering its territory including that of AIR MAURITIUS.
Passengers found with any prohibited items are subject to prosecution, heavy fines with the authorities concerned.

Medical clearance is required in cases when the passenger:
- Suffers from any disease which is believed by the airline doctor to be actively contagious and communicable or
- who, because of certain diseases or incapacity may have or develop an unusual behaviour or physical condition which could have an adverse effect on the welfare and comfort of other passengers and/or crew members, or
- would require medical attention and or special equipment to maintain their health during the flight, or
- might have their medical condition aggravated during or because of the flight, or
- Is proceeding abroad for medical treatment.
Such passengers shall be subject to prior clearance for air travel by the Company Doctor on the basis of information in respect of their physical and/or mental condition. If passenger is eligible to travel, Company Doctor will issue a Medical Certificate of Fitness for Air Travel and conditions if any (Escort, Stretcher, Accompanying Nurse, Accompanying Doctor, Oxygen needed) will be stipulated on the Certificate.

Letter from Doctor treating the patient in Mauritius certifying that the patient requires treatment abroad
and Letter of confirmation from the medical institution abroad where passenger will be admitted.
Patient + one escort will be granted 20% discount on applicable fares on all sectors.
In case Patient is a child (2-12 years old), then 20 % discount applies on child fare on all sectors. In case Patient is an Infant (less than 2 years old), then no discount is granted to patient however 01 escort will be entitled to the applicable discount.
