For international travel you require a passport, which must be valid for at least 6 months. Please note that you may be denied boarding if your passport does not meet the validity requirements of the Immigration Authorities.
Some
States would require one blank visa page in your passport.
Some States require you obtain a visa and/or health
certificate before travelling.
It is your responsibility to be in possession of all
necessary documents.
Air Mauritius Reservations or your travel agent may
provide you with advice of such requirements.
The citizens of Mauritius and of the European Union may travel without a visa between their territories, provided that their stay does not exceed three months and the purpose of travel is not to carry out a paid activity. Mauritian nationals are exempted from short stay visa when travelling to Reunion Island and Mayotte as well as other French overseas departments and territories provided that their stay does not exceed three months over a period of six months (the duration applies to stay on the whole French territory). For passengers proceeding to India, your attention is drawn to the changes in Tourist Visa Regulations. No foreign national who has visited India with a Tourist Visa can enter India again before a time lapse of 2 months from his/her preceding visit unless special permission from the Indian Embassy, High Commission or Consulate is granted.
This restriction of two months gap for re-entering India is NOT applicable to PIO/OCI card holders and foreigners holding business, employment, student and other categories of visa. It applies only to Tourist Visa.

Indian nationals are granted visa on arrival only for a maximum stay of 60 days. The airline will accept passengers with confirmed return booking within 60 days. If passenger is holding ticket for stay beyond 60 days, he/she should apply for a visa from the Mauritius High Commission in Delhi prior to departure.
Additional Information:
1. Visitors must hold:
- confirmed booking for accommodation in Mauritius
- sponsorship letter
- confirmed booking for return flight
- sufficient funds for maintenance during their stay (minimum of USD 100 per day)
2. Any person who overstays in Mauritius after expiry of the period granted on the visa or entry permit, whichever is applicable, shall commit an offence and is liable for prosecution by court of law.
3. Passengers coming to Mauritius for any purpose other than tourism or business should obtain prior authority from the Mauritius Passport and Immigration Office before undertaking any travel to Mauritius.
The following procedures apply until further notice in relation to identification of passengers travelling by air to and from Rodrigues:
- Adult passengers (>18) will be required to carry on them and produce either a passport or National Identification Card
- Parents or legal guardians may vouch for accompanied minors
- Unaccompanied minors (under 18 years) will be required to produce a valid bus pass or any other identification document
- In the absence of a valid identification document, minors may produce a memo from the nearest Police Station.
