4 romantic places to get married in Mauritius

Looking for the ideal wedding destination? With so many outstanding luxury hotels, you’d be hard-pressed to find an unromantic venue in which to get hitched in Mauritius. We’ve narrowed it down to three of our favourite resorts, plus two alternative spots for those in search of something a little bit different.

1. Constance Belle Mare Plage

Located on one of the island’s most beautiful stretches of beach, Constance Belle Mare Plage is one of the top places to get married in Mauritius. Set in a 15-hectare tropical garden and protected by a coral reef, the resort has a range of luxury ocean-facing accommodation including villas with private pools, plus two championship golf courses and the restorative sanctuary of the Spa de Constance.

Share your dreams of the perfect wedding with your dedicated wedding planner, and let them take care of all practicalities. You can also arrange some romantic extras, from candle-lit dinners in private beachside locations to pre-wedding spa treatments or special tension release massages for two.

2. Sugar Beach

At the luxurious Sugar Beach resort on the island’s west coast, you can choose to take your vows in front of the beautiful manor house, in the heart of the tropical gardens, or with the waves lapping your feet on the hotel’s exceptional beach.

Select one of the resorts own wedding themes, from ‘Colonial Plantation’, ‘Exotic’ and ‘Contemporary’, or opt for something simple like a romantic ceremony on the beach followed by a private dinner next to a camp fire. The unrivalled setting is the perfect place to begin your married life, and the services of an experienced wedding co-ordinator will help make your wedding day truly memorable.

3. Shandrani Resort & Spa

Situated on a gorgeous private peninsula alongside the Blue Bay Marine Park in the island’s south east corner, the deluxe 5-star Shandrani Resort & Spa offers a choice of three idyllic beaches on which to tie the knot.

As with all eight Mauritian Beachcomber properties, the hotel guarantees only one wedding per day, so rest assured you will be truly pampered. Choose from the Classic or Luxury wedding packages, the latter including extra treats such as selected Bride and Groom spa treatments, the pressing and framing of the bride’s bouquet and groom’s button hole and an exclusive four course dinner in a private location.

4. Eureka House

The handsome Creole mansion known as Eureka is a must-visit attraction in Mauritius, but did you know you can also get married here? For those seeking an out of the ordinary wedding venue, this former sugar plantation is located inland alongside the river Moka, and is an intriguing alternative to more standard beachside nuptials. Beautiful gardens full of camellias, azaleas, mango and palm trees set the scene, and you can even stay overnight in the mansion’s own guesthouse.
