Mauritius Hotels: What's new for guests 2016 and 2017

There are many hotels and resorts in Mauritius to choose from

Anyone visiting Mauritius soon has a lot to look forward to as hotels roll out new products and services for their guests in 2016 and 2017. Below we round up some of the new things travellers can look forward to when landing on the island.

Shangri-La's Le Touessrok Resort and Spa

Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok is to hold its first Legendary Wedding event this November 2016. The spectacular wedding showcase will be targeted at future brides and grooms who want to tie the knot and be part of the history of this iconic resort.

Couples who confirm their wedding with Shangri-La on the day or within one month of Legendary Wedding will stand a chance to win honeymoon trips to selected Shangri-La hotel destinations as well as enjoy complimentary vouchers and even a free honeymoon night in one of their exclusive beach villas.

Separately, Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok launched its Sunday brunch in May 2016, which is happening every first Sunday of the month. Guests can enjoy dining from across the Mediterranean to Japanese and Indian restaurants.

Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort

Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort has partnered with the Flying Dodo Brewing Company, the only craft beer brewery in Mauritius, to provide a variety of artisan beers available on draught in Bar Bleu at the Outrigger and by bottle in the shop of the resort. The colonial-style Plantation Club restaurant in the Outrigger also offers a four-course craft beer culinary pairing menu in the evenings, in addition to the restaurant’s main menu.

Outrigger is also partnering with Aromatherapy Associates to introduce a new Spa Offering. The Navasana Spa at the Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort has introduced a range of 15 new treatments using essential oils from Aromatherapy Associates of London. The expanded menu offers new treatments, for both men and women, as well as locally inspired offerings such as Mauritian massage, wellness personalized massages, whole-body scrubs, new body wraps, and more holistic treatments.

Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita

The Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita has recently launched a new breakfast menu at Beau Champ with new international menu items including; ‘Classic Ful Medames – Middle Eastern warm fava bean stew, hard boiled eggs & pita bread’, ‘Shrimp & Masala Egg Gratin – Emmental cheese & curry leaf bread’ and ‘“Baghrir” 1000 Holes Pancake – Traditional Moroccan pancake, orange blossom honey, butter & pistachio’.

The resort has also launched its Royal Residence itinerary that includes arriving in style to Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita with a helicopter transfer from the airport direct to the Resort's helipad.

Heritage Resorts and Veranda Resorts

The latest experience at Heritage Awali is the Beach Cinema that can be booked for a private movie session with cozy couches, sparkling wine and gourmet appetizers.

The children can now also enjoy a kids safari at Frederica, the adjacent 1300 hectares nature reserve. On the programme: Fishing in the river, picnic and a treasure hunt.

A new experience offered by Veranda Resorts is ‘Ballad dan Villaz’ (translation from creole: Village Tour ): A bicycle ride tour through the nearby villages with a team member to explore the places of interests, taste the street food, meet the locals who still earn a living from traditional craftsmanship like tinsmiths.

One&Only Le Saint Géran

One&Only Le Saint Géran has just announced its plans for an exciting renovation. The resort will close in February 2017 for an extensive renovation and will re-open in late 2017. Brand new guest rooms and suites will be introduced as well as new culinary experiences, including a pan Asian experience complete with sushi bar, two new pool experiences plus new fitness and spa offerings for guests to discover.

One&Only will also be introducing residences to the resort for guests who want to make the resort home.

Attitude Hotels

On the north coast of Mauritius, Coin de Mire Attitude has extended its beach for guests as part of a development to guard against erosion. Travellers are able to enjoy, not only the peace and quiet of the extended beach but also the view over the stunning Coin de Mire.
