Mumbai business travel: What to see and do on a short break

 Mumbai is an exciting and overwhelming city with so much to offer, but how do you make the most of it on a business trip, especially if you’re pushed for time between meetings and free time is at a premium? Mumbai business trip

The article gives a run down of where to shop, eat and stay in the city that officially changed its name to Mumbai in 1995 but locals still call Bombay. Tips include the fact that Mumbaikars eat dinner on the later side – 9pm is normal and they’re not known for punctuality, either. It also advises stocking up on Coconut water, which is high in electrolytes from the vendors along Marine Drive, to help with jetlag.

And what if you do have a day free? “Take the ferry to Elephanta Island ($2, round-trip). The UNESCO World Heritage site is a network of basalt caves, each filled with reliefs—some 20 feet tall— that date back 1,500 years to the cult of Shiva,” says Bloomberg. “The hour long boat ride is a peaceful respite, and the 120-stair pathway to the temple provides a short workout in the company of playful monkeys.”
