Taste Mauritius teams up with Babur Restaurant

In the Forest Hill neighbourhood of London, renowned restaurant Babur has been at the forefront of traditional and contemporary Indian cuisine for more than 30 years.

Always keen to collaborate and experiment with new ideas, Babur has recently teamed up with Selina Periampillai of Taste Mauritius, who has taken a leap into menu consulting to help devise a special Indian Ocean-inspired seafood menu for the months of May and June, featuring the cooking of Mauritius, Maldives and Seychelles.

As Selina explains, a great deal of research went into creating the perfect menu. “I wanted to give an overall experience and taste of these countries and showcase the wonderful variety of ingredients,” she says. “The Indian Ocean is something I have strived to constantly learn more about and get the recognition and exposure it deserves.”

The special Indian Ocean Islands menu runs until 30 June, so book now for a chance to experience authentic island dishes such as Mauritian monkfish rougaille, Seychelles Creole fish curry and Dhon riha ‘fair curry’; a Maldivian speciality tuna dish. This vibrantly flavoured menu is an ideal choice for an early summer night out in the capital.
