Port Louis, 2 February 2018 - Following their successful participation at theJazz Plaza International Festival held in Havana Cuba, around 30 members of the Atelier Mo’Zar called at Head-Office on Tuesday 30 January, to thank Air Mauritius and Air Mauritius Foundation for their support.
The Foundation sponsored the trip of 29 participants to Havana, for the festival which was held between 17-21 January and saw the participation of 20 countries. The musicians shared what they qualified as “a once in a lifetime experience to present their creation, the sega-jazz to an international high profile audience” . They added that they were moved by the acclaim received by Mauritian music in an island situated at the other end of the world.
Welcoming the Atelier Mo’Zar, Air Mauritius CEO, Somas Appavou, stated that ‘the Air Mauritius Foundation was set up to reinforce and better structure the social engagement of our national airline. We are pleased that this initiative has given the opportunity to deserving young talents to express themselves in front of an international public, more so in Cuba, the cradle of jazz and salsa.’
The Band performed for the audience on the occasion.
Founded in 1996 in Roche Bois by José Thérèse, the Atelier Mo’Zar uses music and jazz as a means of social integration.
