Air Mauritius carrying more passengers than ever
This last year’s fiscal figures, as reported over on lexpress.mu, shows record numbers of passengers flying Air Mauritius, and record revenues.
In the year April 2017-2018, a total of 1,694,956 passengers flew with the airline, an increase of 5.8 per cent.
Revenues peaked at €509.6 million – 3 per cent up on the previous year’s.
Overall, net profits were down, at €4.5 million – accounted for by a 3.9 per cent increase in costs, due to fuel-price rises and the Euro / US dollar exchange rate.
Air Mauritius offered passengers a total of 2,262,214 seats on planes in that year, thanks to ‘a strategy of sustained growth in several markets and new services in Amsterdam and Geneva’.
