Gothic and with scary-looking gargoyles, this imposing and medieval icon is a must for visitors. Follow it with a walk along the neighbouring Seine.

Basilique du Sacré Coeur
In the lively 18th arrondissement, this white marble church looms over the Montmartre district with gold mosaics and impressive stained glass windows.

Rue Mouffetard

If you’re on the hunt for some foodie delicacies, this cobblestoned market street is packed with gourmet shop. Try visiting on a Saturday.

Tower of London

The Tower is actually a castle of 22 towers and offers a compelling history of London. See the colourful Beefeaters, Crown Jewels and famous ravens.

Shakespeare’s Globe

The new Globe was built to resemble the original and has some fascinating exhibits and tours on Shakespeare and theatre in the 17th century.

London Eye

A great way to get some perspective on England’s capital, the London Eye stands 135m high and affords views 25 miles in every direction.

Jade Buddha Temple

A still active Buddhist monastery built in 1918 with a transcendent Buddha crafted from pure jade, one of five shipped back to China by the monk Hui Gen.

Shanghai Tower

This Tower is China’s tallest building twists to the sky in dramatic fashion, corkscrewing to 632m and with 121-storeys.

Yùyuán Gardens & Bazaar

These gardens were founded in between 1559–77 and are a fine example of Ming garden design. Expect shimmering pools with fish, pines, rockeries and blossoms.
