Amazing things to do in Geneva

Geneva, one of the main cities in Switzerland, is situated along the banks of Europe's largest Lake Geneva (Lac Léman). Its undeniable abundance of beauty comes from a fusion of natural scenery, historical architecture, and cultural attractions. From exploring the old town to indulging in delicious Swiss chocolate tours, Geneva has so much to offer in terms of attractions and experiences.

Here is a handful of our favorites we would like to share.

Lake Geneva is one of the city's top attractions, with diverse water activities such as boating, fishing, gourmet cruises, scenic photo spots, and tandem paragliding. You can also see the famous Jet d'Eau fountain from Lake Geneva.

Strolling through Geneva's Old Town streets feels like being in a movie. It's a historic maze of winding cobbled streets and charming squares enclosing cozy cafes, superb restaurants, museums, galleries, and historical buildings. Place Bourg du Four, the oldest square situated in the heart of Geneva's Old Town, is a wonderful spot to enjoy some local cuisine.

Enjoy some fondue, a traditional Swiss dish of melted cheese served in a communal pot, and for dessert, treat yourself to some artisanal Swiss chocolates in one of the chocolate tasting tours.

At the end of the day, stop for some rest on the world's longest bench, The Marronnier de la Treille, situated in the Promenade de la Treille, a small park in the south of Geneva’s Old Town.

Visit St. Pierre Cathedral, an iconic landmark and archeological site with gothic-styled architecture and stained-glass windows. Enjoy a walk through the tree-lined promenade of Parc des Bastions, where you can admire the Reformation Wall and the Giant chess board. At the end of your visit, stop by the refreshment stalls.

Geneva is also home to the largest natural history museum in Switzerland. Explore the outstanding display of animal imitations from all over the world at the Museum of Natural History. Other popular Geneva attractions include the Bains des Paquis, a lakeside beach with public baths and a sauna. There is no better place to relax, sunbathe or simply enjoy Swiss Fondue with a splendid view of the lake.

The richness and diversity of Geneva can be sensed in every corner.
