Flying long-haul with small children can sometimes be stressful, especially when transporting under-twos on your lap, instead of in their own seat. Fortunately for Isabelle Baret – who has recently written about a family trip to Mauritius and Reunion for the Daily Mail – her Air Mauritius flight from the UK was an overnight trip, meaning her youngest child Maxim was able to get some sleep.

The holiday was a chance for Isabelle, who was born in Reunion, to show off the island to the rest of her family. After spending some time on the beaches, they explored the interior’s vanilla plantations and volcanic landscape, before heading to Mauritius for a few days of kids’ club activities and adult pampering at the family-friendly Outrigger Mauritius Beach Resort in Bel Ombre.
