Mauritius Brothers Take Waterskiing to the Next Level
An article in Water Ski Mag caught our eye last month with the story of the Dailland brothers, Thibaut, 25, and Tanguy, 19, who are competitive water-skiers based in Mauritius.
The brothers grew up on lle Boulay, in Ivory Coast, but when war struck in 2004 they moved to Mauritius. As Thibaut explains: “Our parents honeymooned on the island, and our mother loved it. They wanted to help us forget about the bad memories we had from the war. Looking back, we are very happy that they made the decision. We discovered a new passion for different watersports other than water skiing. We learned how to kitesurf, surf, and scuba dive.”
Thibaut is now ranked in the world's top 20 slalom skiers and the range of watersports in Mauritius has helped build up their core strength and different muscle groups to the benefit of their primary sport of waterskiing.
From the Made in Mauritius blog we look forward to seeing them in future competitions and wish them luck. For more on Water Ski Mag check them out on Facebook and Twitter.
