Singapore and Mauritius kick-off new Air Corridor
Singapore and Mauritius are to hold a friendly football match to celebrate the new air corridor signed between both countries last year. The air corridor cements Mauritius’s standing as a major aviation hub in the Indian Ocean and bridge between Africa and Asia.
The football will be between the Under 21 National football teams of the two nations this Saturday 11th March at George V Stadium. Entrance will be free. The match will help the Mauritius team prepare for the Indian Ocean Games. On the day, there will be various activities including a mega blood donation.
The air corridor agreement signed on 14th October 2016 will allow Air Mauritius to penetrate the Asia market, while allowing Singapore Airlines to fly to Mauritius and other parts of Africa. It promises to be a huge market that will offer plenty of opportunities to local and international travellers.
