A340 and A330 aircraft is proof of our continued and
expanded commitment to air cargo transportation.

The purpose-built automated Cargo Terminal at SSR
International Airport fully caters for the existing exports
and transit traffic and can accommodate a further 25 percent
growth. Separate storage rooms are available for
perishables, dangerous goods, vulnerable and valuable
freight. Besides the Terminal houses, both the Handling
Agents & Customs offices are of added value in the fast and
efficient handling of all shipments.
The strategic location of Mauritius, coupled with its
outstanding handling facilities, make it a major transit hub
for Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands. As a move forward,
Air Mauritius has recently invested in modern infrastructure
and in state-of-the-art equipment to accommodate and
facilitate transshipment of cargo traffic. At Air Mauritius,
we offer a seamless logistics value-chain to our customers,
for instance enabling ramp-to-ramp transfer at international
standard within 90 minutes.
‘Sita Cargowise’, one of the best automated computer cargo
systems, is used to ensure that real time information is
available to our customers at all times. This computerised
system provides the following facilities: bookings, airway
bill data capture, rating, ULD management and tracking of
consignments.
