Air Mauritius has never compromised on safety which has always been our topmost priority. In these unprecedented times, our focus is even more on the health & safety of our customers and of our personnel.

While we wait for better days ahead, we are planning for the gradual restart of our operations and have adapted our services to offer you a safe journey with us.

As the national airline of the Republic of Mauritius, we are all the more aware of our national responsibility.  While Mauritius is on lockdown, we continue to operate flights for the repatriation of our citizens and for the transport of medical equipment and supplies. 

We wish to reassure you of our readiness to fly our passengers safely to their destination. All the necessary sanitary and other precautionary measures are being taken in accordance with recommendations from our government, health authorities, the World Health Organisation (WHO), civil aviation authorities, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and other aviation partners.

These are a list of precautionary measures being taken for ensuring a safe journey with Air Mauritius.

Air Mauritius staff

Cleaning of aircraftAll our staff are aware of health and safety measures being taken at different stages of your journey.  Our frontliners will be equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and have been trained and briefed about the latest hygiene and cleaning protocols.  

Our cabin crew are briefed on the latest updates about health and safety measures. Cabin crew will be subjected to temperature screening before and after each flight, and equipped with PPE during the flight. They will minimise contact time with travelling customers.

 

 

2019 

  • Air Mauritius is certified as a 4-Star Airline by rating agency Skytrax for the quality of our onboard product and service across both aircraft and cabin service operations as well as its airport service standards. The 4-Star status places Air Mauritius in the league consisting of not more than 40 Best Airlines in the world.
  • Skytrax has ranked Air Mauritius as the number 3 airline in Africa at the World Airline Awards at Le Bourget on 20 June 2019.
  • The national airline of Mauritius was also ranked among the 10 most improved airlines in the world by Skytrax at the same event. 
  • At the World Travel Awards held in Mauritius on 1 June 2019, Air Mauritius won Awards in the following categories:
    • Indian Ocean’s Leading Airline 2019*
