New Terminal Building at SSR International Airport

Operations in the New Terminal Building started on 12 September 2013. The last flight in the Existing Terminal Building was on the night of 11 September with MK 034 departing at 22h35 to Paris. The transfer from Existing to New Terminal Building took place overnight on 11 September.

The New Terminal Building consists of three levels.

Domestic arrivals and departures are processed through a dedicated terminal at Ground Level. Passengers proceeding to Rodrigues no longer have access to the Airport Lounges.

The Air Mauritius lounge is situated at the International Departure Level 1. The facility of checking-in at La Terrace currently extended to our Kestrelflyer Gold card holders travelling in Business Class is no longer available as no such facility exists in lounges at the New Terminal Building.

International arrivals are processed at level 2 (Immigration and Health) and baggage carousels are located at Ground Level. International departures are processed at Level 1. For Air Mauritius international flights, check-in is in Hall B. One of the major highlights at the Departure Check-in Hall is that now the public has been granted access. Ticketing counters are available at both the Domestic and International Terminals. These outlets undertake sale of tickets and ancillary services such as lounge access, upgrades and exit seats. Excess baggage payments can also be made there.

Air Mauritius has been preparing for this move for months and teams from various departments have worked to ensure a smooth transition. We have carried out tests to ensure that our teams are all acquainted with the state of the art facilities of the New Terminal Building and that we deliver an efficient and seamless service. With the move to the New Terminal Building, we look forward to offer you an enhanced customer experience with Air Mauritius.
