It’s the best time of year for kitesurfing in Mauritius and from 18 June – 30 September you can carry one piece of kitesurfing equipment free of charge on your Air Mauritius flight.*

While there are kitesurfing opportunities at various points around the island, the kiting hub of Mauritius is at Le Morne lagoon, where the conditions are suitable for both amateurs and professionals wishing to test their skills. Kiteival

Some of these pros will feature at this year’s Kiteival, the island’s annual kitesurfing festival, which takes place from 26 July – 4 August. Kiters of all abilities are eligible to take part, with stages to be held in different ‘downwinders’ around Mauritius. The festival also includes a wave contest and freestyle event, culminating in a massive party and prize-giving ceremony for all participants.
