General Information

1. We recommend that you are acquainted with all visa and health requirements issued by the health authorities applicable to your destination. You may obtain more information from the respective embassies and consulates. It is your responsibility to obtain all required travel documents including passports, health certificate, entry requirements and visas and we shall not be liable if you are denied entry in any country as a result of your failure to hold the required travel documents.  Additional documents may be required for some destinations, please consult requirements by destination in the sections below.

2. You will be required to arrive at the SSR International airport at least three hours prior to departure.

3. Live animals will NOT be accepted as checked luggage for travel into Mauritius. All live animals for travel into Mauritius must be shipped as CARGO, and you must hold an appropriate import permit from the local authorities. Live animals will not be accepted without prior reservation and the appropriate documentation.  For more information, please check our Travelling with Pets page.

As from 01 July 2022, regardless of vaccination status, travellers do not need to present a negative PCR test before flying to Mauritius. Travellers do not need to test on arrival or self-isolate.

Travel Requirements

Passengers travelling to Mauritius will have to fulfil all travel exigencies before their flight.

All passengers travelling to Mauritius must possess the following documents:

  • A valid air ticket to Mauritius.  It is important that you provide your email address and mobile number for us to communicate with you.
  • Prior to travel, it is recommended for all travellers to fill out the digital ALL IN ONE FORM.  It will generate a PDF document with a QR Code, which must be presented to Health Officials on arrival at Mauritius Airport.


Any passenger known to be Covid-19 positive within 7 days of departure shall not be allowed to board the flight.

 

Note: For passengers travelling from Reunion: Due to recent outbreak of Avian Influenza in Reunion Island, no live animals and products of animal origin including poultry products whether cooked or raw should be introduced into Mauritius. In case these products have been inadvertently brought during their travel, passengers should immediately report same to the custom on arrival.

 

Please check whether you are required to meet other requirements as imposed by your country of departure for travelling to Mauritius.

  • All passengers arriving from France must meet the travel requirements that may be imposed by the French Government listed on the French Ministry of Interior website: https://www.interieur.gouv.fr/covid-19-international-travel#from4a. A check of the supporting documents, if required, will be made in France before departure. Please note that this does not apply to passengers in transit at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Transit through Mauritius

All passengers should comply with all travel requirements as imposed by the authorities of their final destination.

At the airport of departure

  • Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to their scheduled flight departure time.
  • It is recommended for passengers to wear surgical or N95/FFP2 masks.
  • Passengers will also be subject to temperature checks at the airport.

 

Baggage

Information on your baggage allowance is included on your ticket.

  • Cabin baggage is limited to one piece weighing not more than 7 kg.
  • Note that no single baggage weighing more than 32 kg will be accepted at check in.
  • Should you be a Kestrelflyer Gold or Silver cardholder, you are eligible for one additional piece of 20 kg on presentation of your membership card.

Hygiene protocol on board

Passengers are requested to adhere to sanitary hygiene on board.

  • Used masks should not be left in seat pockets, on the seats or anywhere else in the cabin. Same should be disposed of in the lavatory waste bins only, or be kept in your bag.

  • C-LAB - 15% discount on RT-PCR and antigen tests
  • NOVALAB - 15% discount on RT-PCR and antigen tests
  • City Clinic, Port Louis - 20% discount on RT-PCR and antigen tests
  • Clinique de Grand Baie, Grand Bay - 20% discount on RT-PCR and antigen tests
  • Abiolabs, Réduit - 10% discount on RT-PCR tests

Passengers must present their Air Mauritius ticket (starting with “239”) at any of the Covid-19 collection centres.

      With effect from 01 August 2022, the rules which previously applied to travellers to France no longer apply:

      • Travelers no longer have any formalities to complete before their arrival in France, in mainland France and overseas, and the presentation of the health pass is no longer required, regardless of the country or area of ​​origin;
      • No further proof of travel (the "compelling reason") is required;
      • Travelers no longer have to present a sworn statement of non-contamination and a commitment to undergo an antigenic test or a biological examination on arrival in the national territory.

          Latest update: 01 August 2022

          As of August 1, 2022, all travel restrictions between Reunion and mainland France and between Reunion and abroad are lifted. Wearing a mask in public transport and in particular on planes remains strongly recommended.

                Please check in at SSR International airport at least 3 hours before your scheduled flight departure.

                Information on your baggage allowance is included on your ticket. Cabin baggage is limited to one piece weighing not more than 7 kg. Note that no single baggage weighing more than 32 Kg will be accepted at check in.

                Should you be a Gold or Silver Kestrelflyer, you are eligible for one additional piece of 20 kg on presentation of your valid membership card.

                Latest update

                From July 6 2022, the way you ​travel to and from Australia has changed. All travellers should be aware that:

                • People entering Australia do not need to provide evidence of vaccination status
                • People entering Australia do not need to complete the Digital Passenger Declaration or Maritime Travel Declaration
                • People leaving Australia will not be asked to provide evidence of their vaccination status
                • Unvaccinated visa holders do not​ need a travel exemption to travel to Australia

                Latest update

                From 1st August 2022, travellers wishing to enter Malaysia no longer need to fill out their Pre-Departure form (PDF) in the MySejahtera application. There is no need to undergo a COVID-19 screening test before entering Malaysia.

                Travel Exigencies

                • Passengers should fulfil vaccination requirements. For information on vaccination, please click here.

                   

                • All passengers are required to complete the online Health Declaration Form of the Department of Health (www.chp.gov.hk/hdf/) prior to their arrival at Hong Kong.

                   

                • Passengers arriving from overseas places or Taiwan are required to conduct a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) with a negative result within 24 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure of the flight to Hong Kong. These persons are advised to complete the online Health Declaration Form after they have obtained the negative RAT result.

                   

                • After submitting the declaration and upon confirmation of boarding requirements being met, the system will generate a green Health Declaration QR code. Please save the QR code (which can be a downloadable version of the QR code, a screen shot or a printout).

                   

                • Please present the green Health Declaration QR code at check-in for verification by airlines for boarding. Please also show the QR code to the border control point staff upon arriving at Hong Kong.
