TRAVEL INFORMATION 

1. Check that you are not presenting flu-like symptoms (fever, cough and sneezing) prior to travel, in which case you will not be allowed to board the aircraft.

2. We recommend that you are acquainted with all requirements issued by the health authorities applicable to your destination. You may obtain more information from the respective embassies and consulates. Additional documents may be required for some destinations, please consult requirements by destination in the sections below.

3. You will be required to arrive at the SSR International airport at least four hours prior to departure. With all the precautionary measures now in place, the process will be longer, although we will strive to make it seamless for you. 

4. You will be required to wear your own mask at all times at the airport and onboard, as this is mandatory for travel. Please ensure that you carry a sufficient number of masks for the entire duration of your flight, from the time you reach the airport to the time you leave the airport at destination.  Typically, you should provide for one mask for every 4 hours. Read more on specific sanitary measures enforced by some countries in the sections below.

5. We encourage you to travel with a hand sanitiser in quantities of 100ml or less for use throughout your journey.

6. To help limit contact between carry-on baggage items, your Cabin Baggage should include only the necessary essential items such as personal laptops, handbag, briefcase, and baby items. 

7. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, live animals will NOT be accepted as checked luggage for travel into Mauritius. All live animals for travel into Mauritius must be shipped as CARGO, and you must hold an appropriate import permit from the local authorities. While we endeavour to provide you with the latest information about travel requirements, these may change at short notice. Please check the latest travel advisories of your destination and transit airports with the relevant authorities for your trip to and from your destination.

Opening of borders

From 15 July to 30 September 2021, borders will be open. Different requirements will apply for vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers. More information is available at www.mauritiusnow.com  

The Mauritian authorities are also working on the Full Opening of Borders as from 1st October 2021.

Travel Requirements

Passengers travelling to Mauritius will have to fulfil all travel exigencies before their flight.

All passengers (including children and infants) travelling to Mauritius must possess the following documents:

1. A certificate of a negative PCR test administered between 3 and 7 days prior to the date of boarding at the last point of embarkation. Only passengers whose tests are negative will be allowed to board flights to Mauritius. The original certificate must be presented at check-in, boarding and upon arrival.

For travellers from India, only PCR tests conducted at laboratories approved by the Mauritian authorities are accepted.  The approved ‘List of Covid-19 Testing Labs’ can be obtained on the following website: https://www.icmr.gov.in/ .  Only a negative RT-PCR test report with QR Code will be accepted. 

2. A valid air ticket to Mauritius.  It is important that you provide your email address and
mobile number for us to communicate with you.

3. A Proof of vaccination for fully vaccinated travellers

4. A proof of purchase of a travel package including accommodation, on a full board basis, at a designated hotel, as follows:

Up to 30th September 2021:

  • Vaccinated travellers

Vaccinated travellers will have to book a hotel holiday package in a certified COVID-19 safe hotel or may also opt for an in-room stay in an official quarantine hotel. Unvaccinated passengers under 18 years, accompanying their parents, will be allowed to stay in the same resort as their vaccinated parents.

Fully vaccinated travellers staying in a Covid-19 Safe hotel will have free movement within the resort compound and access to authorised activities.  They will be free to explore the island after a negative PCR test on day 7. Fully vaccinated travellers opting for an authorised quarantine hotel will be accommodated like unvaccinated passengers. Fully vaccinated travellers will be free to explore the island after a negative PCR test on day 7.

  • Unvaccinated travellers

Unvaccinated travellers will have to book a 14-day in-room quarantine package including meals and transfers in an official quarantine hotel. They will end the quarantine after a negative PCR test on day 14.

The Mauritian authorities are working on the Full Opening of Borders as from 1st October 2021:

  • Vaccinated travellers can explore the island freely with a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of their flight.
  • Unvaccinated travellers will need to present a negative PCR test taken 3-7 days from the last point of embarkation and book a 14-day in-room quarantine package including meals and transfers in an official quarantine hotel.

5. Incoming passengers to Mauritius must download and fill the forms below which must be handed over to the Ministry of Health and Wellness counters upon their arrival:

6. Please check whether you are required to meet other requirements as imposed by your country of departure for travelling to Mauritius. 

Unvaccinated passengers arriving from France should provide a compelling reason to travel. Please check travel requirements here.   A check of the supporting documents will be made in France before departure.  Please note that this does not apply to passengers in transit at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.

Information on approved vaccines and PCR tests

a/ Approved vaccines for Mauritius are AstraZeneca (Covishield), Astra Zeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine, Sinopharm, Sputnik and Sinovac- CoronaVac.

b/
Passengers must be fully vaccinated with a COVID vaccine recognised by the Mauritian Authorities.  If a second dose of a vaccine is required to be fully vaccinated, this must be administered at least 14 days before arrival. For the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, the single injection should be made at least 28 days before arrival.

For persons who have recovered from Covid-19, the requirements are as follows:

  • One dose of Johnson & Johnson to be administered at least 28 days before arrival.
  • For the other approved vaccines, only one dose to be administered at least 14 days before arrival.
  • An official document showing proof of Covid-19 infection

Mixed vaccination is approved upon proof of  vaccination of both doses.

Passengers under 18 years of age are currently exempted from vaccination. However, they will need to undergo a PCR test.

c/ Any arriving passenger will have to undergo PCR tests on day of arrival at the SSR International Airport and on day 7 following arrival. Unvaccinated travellers will also have to undergo a PCR test on day 14 following arrival. 

d/ Vaccinated travellers may stay for a minimum of 2 days in Mauritius and will be transferred directly from the hotel to the airport through a secure corridor for their return flight.

e/ If a traveller is tested positive at the airport or during his stay, he will be admitted to a dedicated quarantine hotel if he is asymptomatic or in a hospital if he is symptomatic.

At the airport of departure

  • With all the health safety and precautionary measures in place, the check-in and boarding processes are expected to take longer. Passengers are therefore advised to arrive at the airport at least three hours prior to their scheduled flight departure time.
  • It is mandatory for all passengers to wear only surgical masks. Please ensure that you carry a sufficient number of masks for the entire duration of your flight, from the time you reach the airport of departure to the time you leave SSR international airport. Typically, you should provide for one mask for every 4 hours.
  • Passengers will also be subject to temperature checks at the airport.


Baggage

Information on your baggage allowance is included on your ticket.

  • Cabin baggage is limited to one piece weighing not more than 7 kg.
  • Note that no single baggage weighing more than 32 kg will be accepted at check in.
  • Should you be a Kestrelflyer Gold or Silver cardholder, you are eligible for one additional piece of 20 kg on presentation of your membership card.



    Hygiene protocol on board

    Passengers are requested to adhere to strict sanitary hygiene on board.

  • Used masks should not be left in seat pockets, on the seats or anywhere else in the cabin. Same should be disposed of in the lavatory waste bins only, or be kept in your bag.
  • To help limit contact between carry-on baggage items, your cabin baggage should include only the necessary essential items such as laptops, handbag, briefcase, and baby items.

Important Notice

Up to 31st October 2021, no commercial passenger flights will operate to Rodrigues, except for authorised flights.

General notes 

Rodrigues is opening its borders in a phased manner, as follows:

  • Phase 1 - as from mid-August 2021 up to 31st October 2021
  • Phase 2 - Normal resumption of flights as from 1st November 2021

Phase One: From mid-August up to 31st October 2021

Eligibility for travel

  • Stranded residents of Rodrigues
  • Other residents of Rodrigues
  • All other Mauritians/Residents of the island of Mauritius

Travel Requirements for Phase 1

All passengers travelling from the island of Mauritius to Rodrigues will have to undergo 14-days quarantine in Mauritius.

  • Rapid antigen tests will be conducted on Day 0 and PCR tests on Day 14. If a test is positive, the passenger will be taken in charge by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
  • Only passengers with a negative PCR test will be allowed to proceed to Rodrigues through a sanitary corridor.
  • Upon arrival in Rodrigues, passengers are free to get back to normal activities. However, they will be subjected to 7 days Health surveillance.
  • Except for minors, only vaccinated passengers will be allowed to travel from Rodrigues to the island of Mauritius.

Note: Passengers travelling to Rodrigues shall undergo quarantine at one of the approved establishments including meals and airport transfers in Mauritius free of charge.

Phase Two: Normal resumption of flights as from 1st November 2021

Travel Requirements for Phase 2

  • All passengers travelling to Rodrigues, except for minors, must be fully vaccinated and provide a proof of vaccination at check-in.
  • All passengers must hold a certificate of a negative PCR test administered between 3 and 5 days prior to embarkation. Only passengers whose tests are negative will be allowed to board flights to Rodrigues. The original certificate must be presented at check-in.
  • Except for minors, only vaccinated passengers will be allowed to travel from Rodrigues to the island of Mauritius.

Note on Approved Vaccines

Approved vaccines for Mauritius are AstraZeneca (Covishield), Astra Zeneca (Vaxzevria), Covaxin, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, Sinopharm, Sputnik and Sinovac- CoronaVac.


Sanitary measures

  • It is mandatory for all passengers to wear a mask at all times. Please ensure that you carry a sufficient number of masks for the entire duration of your trip. Passengers not complying with sanitary measures imposed by the relevant authorities will be denied boarding.
  • Body temperature checks will be carried-out for both departing and arriving passengers at SSR International Airport and at Plaine Corail Airport by the health authorities. Any passenger having temperature above 37.7 degrees Celcius and/or any symptoms of Covid 19, will be directed to the medical post, under the supervision of the airport doctor.
  • Passengers shall duly fill in the Health Declaration card before landing.
  • Passengers arriving in Rodrigues will be subjected to 14 days health surveillance by the Public Health authorities as from the date of arrival.
  • Physical distancing of at least 1m should be maintained by all staff and passengers within the terminal and in public areas.

Sanitary hygiene on board

  • You are requested to adhere to strict sanitary hygiene on board. Kindly dispose of used surgical masks in the lavatory bin or keep them in your own bag.
  • We encourage you to travel with a hand sanitiser in quantities of 100ml or less for use throughout your journey.

Baggage Allowance

To help limit contact between carry-on baggage items, your Cabin Baggage should include only the necessary essential items such as personal laptops, handbag, briefcase, and baby items. For cabin baggage, the total allowable number of pieces per person is one, with a weight not exceeding 5 kg.

Your entitlement for checked baggage is 15kg.

Due to weight limitations on ATR-72 aircraft, the additional baggage allowance of 8 Kgs to Kestrelflyer Gold card holders & 5 Kgs to Kestrelflyer Silver card holders does not apply on flights to / from Rodrigues until further notice.

General notes

  • Please check in at the airport at least 4 hours before your scheduled flight departure.

  • Unaccompanied minors (UM) and passengers with special needs can be accompanied inside the departure area.

  • Kindly check that you have complied with all mandatory visa and travel documents for your travel.

Travel exigencies and required documents

  • Passengers aged 5 years and above, entering or transiting through Kenya must have a printed medical certificate with negative Coronavirus (COVID-19) PCR test result. The test must have been taken at most 96 hours before arrival into Kenya. The certificate must be in English. 
    Passengers whose medical certificate has expired due to the transit time will be subject to a test for Covid-19 at their own cost upon arrival at a recognised facility.
  • Passengers must complete the Travelers Health Surveillance Form online at https://ears.health.go.ke/airline_registration/ 
    Passengers must hold a QR code they received by e-mail showing they have completed the travellers Health Surveillance Form and present the e-mail at check-in.
  • Passengers arriving from specified countries are exempted from Quarantine. A list of quarantine exemptions can be found at https://www.kcaa.or.ke/quarantine-exempted-states
  • Passport and other travel documents accepted for entry are considered valid until the day before the expiration date.

    Please note that passengers who do not fulfil the above requirements will be denied boarding.

It should be worn from the time they reach SSR International airport to the time they leave the airport at destination which includes boarding, the entire flight and deplaning. Please note that passengers not complying with these sanitary measures imposed by the relevant authorities will be denied boarding.

Should you be a Kestrelflyer Gold or Silver cardholder, you are eligible for one additional piece of 20kgs on presentation of your valid membership card. Note that no single baggage weighing more than 32 Kgs will be accepted at check in.

  • Unaccompanied minors (UM) and passengers with special needs can be accompanied inside the departure area.

Travel exigencies and required documents

  • All travellers must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test carried out within 72 hours before boarding.
  • Travellers whose final destination is Madagascar will be required to fill in the enclosed letter of engagement (Lettre D'engagement Madagascar) prior arrival in Madagascar.

  • It is mandatory for all passengers to wear a surgical mask from the time they reach SSR International airport to the time they leave the airport at destination which includes boarding, the entire flight and deplaning.  
  • Typically, you should provide for one mask for every 4 hours.  Please ensure that you hold a sufficient number of masks for your trip, from the time you reach the airport to the time you leave the airport at destination.
  • Please note that passengers not complying with these sanitary measures imposed by the relevant authorities will be denied boarding.

Arrival

  • All Passengers will be subjected to temperature control upon arrival in Madagascar.
  • The completed letter of engagement and negative PCR test results must be submitted to the Health Officials and Immigration Officers upon arrival.

Eligibility for travel
As from 09 June 2021, travel requirements have been relaxed for persons who have been fully vaccinated with a European Medical Agency (EMA) approved vaccination, or with vaccines whose composition and manufacturing process are recognised as similar to the authorised vaccines by the National Agency for the safety of medicines and health products. Countries have been classified accordingly, based on health indicators. The lists of countries may be updated as the epidemic situation evolves. Classification of countries (Green, Orange and Red)

  • Mauritius is classified as an Orange country.  As such, fully vaccinated passengers with an EMA approved vaccine or with vaccines whose composition and manufacturing process are recognised as similar to the authorised vaccines by the National Agency for the safety of medicines and health products, and with a complete vaccination schedule, will no longer require a compelling reason (motif impérieux) to travel to Réunion island.
  • French Nationals fully vaccinated with an EMA approved vaccine or with vaccines whose composition and manufacturing process are recognised as similar to the authorised vaccines by the National Agency for the safety of medicines and health products, and with a complete vaccination schedule, will not need a compelling reason to travel to Réunion Island.
  • Unvaccinated passengers and those originating from red zone countries would still require compelling reasons to travel to Reunion Island.

VACCINATION

Only vaccines authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) i.e. Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna (Spikevax), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria) and Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) or those whose composition and manufacturing process are recognised as similar to the authorised vaccines by the National Agency for the safety of medicines and health products, i.e. AstraZeneca (Covishield), R-Covi (R-Pharm Laboratory) and Vaccin Covid-19 (Fiocruz Laboratory) will be accepted as follows:

  • At least 28 days have elapsed since the first dose of Janssen vaccine, or
  • At least 7 days have elapsed since the second vaccine dose of AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria or Covishield), Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), R-Covi (R-Pharm Laboratory)  or Vaccin Covid-19  (Fiocruz Laboratory), or
  • At least 7 days have elapsed since the first vaccine dose of AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria or Covishield), Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), R-Covi (R-Pharm Laboratory)  or Vaccin Covid-19  (Fiocruz Laboratory) and a proof of previous infection with Covid-19. (only one dose is necessary).
The provisions applicable to passengers presenting proof of a complete vaccination plan also apply to minors (aged 12 and over) accompanying an adult passenger or passengers with such proof.

A certificate of recovery corresponds to the presentation of the result of a biological examination of virological screening carried out more than eleven days and less than six months before the flight, concluding that it has contamination by Covid-19. 

TRAVEL DOCUMENTS

Kindly check that you have complied with all mandatory visa and travel documents for your travel.  For more information on visa requirements and eligibility to travel, please consult the French Embassy.

Additional documents will be required as follows:

  1. Unvaccinated Passengers travelling to Réunion Island must fill in a Travel Certificate (certificate relating to air travel and compelling reasons) and hold supporting documents proving that they are travelling for family, health or professional reasons that cannot be postponed. Travel certificate for unaccompanied minors. The travel certificate may be obtained at: http://www.reunion.gouv.fr/les-attestations-obligatoires-pour-les-voyageurs-a7370.html
  2. All travellers aged 12 years and above must provide proof of a negative Covid-19 test carried out less than 72 hours before boarding. This negative result is mandatory and will be requested at check-in at SSR International airport and on arrival. For passengers aged 12 years and above, connecting from Red Zone countries, the tests should be carried out less than 48 hours before boarding.
  3. Unvaccinated passengers are required to hold a sworn statement (Attestation sur l’honneur) confirming that they do not have covid-19 and have not been in contact with an individual that has tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 14 days. Passengers are also required to commit themselves to isolation for 7 days after arrival and to perform a new PCR test at the end of the 7 days. For minors, the sworn statements should be signed by their legal representative.
  4. All passengers should fill in the health form set up by the ARS for contact tracing. The form should be filled online at https://suivi.arslareunion-covid19.re/fr.

      The traveller then will receive a QR code through SMS or an email inviting them to download their receipt 48 hours before flight departure.

      The supporting document must be printed or downloaded to a mobile phone and must be presented to the check-in staff when departing from Mauritius.

       5. Vaccinated travellers who are exempted of compelling reasons to travel to Réunion Island should present a proof of complete vaccination against Covid 19.

    Transit and connecting flights

    If you are in transit and travelling onward, please ensure that your luggage is checked-in to your final destination as you will not be able to exit the transit area. 

    Pets
    Pets (AVIH) are accepted at check in with all appropriate documents.

    Eligibility for travel

    • Since 01st October 2020, South African borders are open to international travel, with exceptions for travel from high risk countries. The list is available on the Home Affairs website: www.dha.gov.za .

    Travel to and from Mauritius is permitted.

    • Travelers from high risk countries who intend to travel to South Africa require permission from the Minister of Home Affairs and must fall in the following categories: business travelers, holders of critical skills visas, investors and people on international mission in sports, arts, culture and science. These travelers must direct email requests to:Covid19BusinessTravel@dha.gov.za, supported by a copy of passport and/or temporary residence visa; proof of business activities to be undertaken in the Republic; proof of travel itinerary; and proof of address or accommodation in the Republic. However, South African citizens, South African Permanent Residents and long-term visa holders from high risk countries do not require the permission from the Minister of Home Affairs.

    General notes

    Travel requirements for passengers travelling to South Africa

    1. Travellers will need to present a negative COVID-19 test result not older than 72 hours from time of departure, from an accredited laboratory, and in line with the World Health Organisation requirements.  This negative result is mandatory and will be requested at check-in at SSR International airport and upon arrival in South Africa by the Health Authorities.  Children below the age of 5 years are exempted from COVID-19 PCR test.

    2. All Passengers must complete the Traveller Health Questionnaire and remit same to Port Health Officials upon arrival.

    3. Travellers are encouraged to download the COVID Alert South Africa mobile app from the following website: https://sacoronavirus.co.za/covidalert/  so that they are able to monitor and minimise their risk of exposure to the COVID-19 virus.

    4. Travelers must hold a proof of accommodation address in South Africa, in case they are required to self-quarantine at the time of arrival.

    Sanitary measures

    • It is mandatory for all passengers to wear a surgical mask from the time they reach SSR International airport to the time they leave the airport at destination which includes boarding, the entire flight and deplaning.  In South Africa, a child under the age of 2 may be exempted from wearing a mask. Typically, you should provide for one mask for every 4 hours.
    • Please note that passengers not complying with these sanitary measures imposed by the relevant authorities will be denied boarding.
    • Passengers will also be subject to temperature checks at the airport.

    Arrival

    • Travelers will need to present the negative COVID-19 test results not older than 72 hours from time of departure, to Health Officials, upon arrival in South Africa.

    • The completed Traveller Health Questionnaire must be handed to Port Health Officials upon arrival.
    • All travelers will be subjected to COVID-19 screening on arrival.

    Those who present COVID-19 symptoms which include elevated body temperatures and flu-like symptoms, will be required to take a COVID-19 test which will be at the traveler’s cost. Should the test results come back positive, the traveler will be subjected to mandatory quarantine, which will also be paid for by the traveler.

    Eligibility for travel

    Travellers who have been in or through a country on the red list in the last 10 days cannot enter UK. This does not apply to British and Irish Nationals, longer-term visa holders and permanent residents.

    Essential information to enter England from overseas

    Everyone entering England from overseas (including UK nationals and residents) must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 3 days of departure to England. 

    Fill in your Passenger Locator Form up to 48 hours before arrival. You must declare all countries you have visited or transited through in the 10 days prior to your arrival on your Passenger Locator Form.

    Before departure check the list of red, amber, and green countries, as the list can change regularly.

    Red list passengers

    1. Book a managed quarantine package
    2. Complete a passenger locator form

    You can only enter if you are a British or Irish National, or you have residence rights in the UK. You must enter through a designated port and quarantine in a government approved hotel for 10 days.

    Amber list passengers

    1. Book tests for day 2 and 8
    2. Complete a passenger locator form
    3. Make plans to self-quarantine in private accommodation for 10 full days after arrival (or full duration of stay if less than 10 days)

    If you are arriving from an amber country, and have been fully vaccinated through an approved vaccination programme, at least 14 days before your arrival in England, you must:

    1. Book a test for day 2
    2. Complete a passenger locator form

    Green list passengers

    These measures apply to all persons (including UK nationals and residents) arriving in England from outside the common travel area comprising the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands. The British Overseas Territories are not in the common travel area. Public health requirements may vary depending upon in which nation of the UK you are staying.

    Failure to comply with these measures is a criminal offence and you could be fined. There are a limited set of exemptions from these measures. Check the list of exemptions carefully. You may be fined if you fraudulently claim an exemption.

    • Children below 11 years old do not need to take a test.
    • Up to the 07th August 2021, passengers who have been in or transited through France in the 10 days prior to their arrival in England are not eligible to forgo self-isolation and day 8 testing even if they are fully vaccinated. As from 08th August 2021, same requirements as amber list passengers will apply.

    • It is mandatory for all passengers to wear a face mask. It should be worn from the time they reach SSR International airport to the time they leave the airport at destination which includes boarding, the entire flight and deplaning. Please note that passengers not complying with these sanitary measures imposed by the relevant authorities will be denied boarding.

    If you are in transit and travelling onward, please ensure that your luggage is checked-in to your final destination as you will not be able to exit the transit area.
     

    Eligibility for travel

    Effective from 9 June, the movement of travellers between France and foreign countries will resume under terms and conditions that will vary according to the health status of these countries and the vaccination status of travellers.

    Countries have been classified accordingly based on health indicators. The lists of countries may be updated as the epidemic situation evolves.

    Travel requirements have been relaxed for persons who have been fully vaccinated with a European Medical Agency approved vaccination. Please consult the Government website for more information.

  5. Passengers must provide a sworn statement that they do not show any symptom of Covid-19 and that they have no knowledge of having been in close contact with a confirmed Covid-19 case within 14 days before the flight.

    Green countries

    • Vaccinated passengers can enter France without any restrictions and have to present a proof of complete vaccination.

    • Unvaccinated passengers will have to present a negative COVID‑19 PCR test carried out less than 72 hours before departure, except for passengers from Cyprus, Spain, Greece, the Netherlands, Malta or Portugal for whom the test should be effected less than 24 hours before departure.

    Orange countries (including Mauritius)

    Vaccinated passengers

    1. Proof of complete vaccination status.


    Unvaccinated passengers

    1. Compelling reason to travel to France. The list of compelling reasons is specified in the travel and travel certificate issued by the Ministry of the Interior.

    2. The negative result of a COVID-19 PCR test, carried out less than 72 hours before departure, except for passengers arriving from the United Kingdom for whom the test must be carried out less than 24 hours before departure.

    3. Biological tests possible on arrival.

    Red countries

    • Vaccinated passengers

    1. Compelling reason to travel to France or an exemption issued by the French Embassy

    Note:  All unvaccinated minors accompanying vaccinated adult passengers must have a negative PCR test result of less than 72 hours before boarding.  (less than 48 hours for Red Countries)

    Exemptions:

    Children below 12 years old are not required to take the COVID‑19 PCR test.

    Vaccination

    Only vaccines authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) i.e. Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna (Spikevax), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria) and Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) or those whose composition and manufacturing process are recognised as similar to the authorised vaccines by the National Agency for the safety of medicines and health products, i.e. AstraZeneca (Covishield), R-Covi (R-Pharm Laboratory) and Vaccin Covid-19 (Fiocruz Laboratory) will be accepted as follows:

    • At least 28 days have elapsed since the first dose of Janssen vaccine, or
    • At least 7 days have elapsed since the second vaccine dose of AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria or Covishield), Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), R-Covi (R-Pharm Laboratory)  or Vaccin Covid-19  (Fiocruz Laboratory), or
    • At least 7 days have elapsed since the first vaccine dose of AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria or Covishield), Moderna (Spikevax), Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), R-Covi (R-Pharm Laboratory)  or Vaccin Covid-19  (Fiocruz Laboratory) and a proof of previous infection with Covid-19. (only one dose is necessary).

    Requirements applicable to passengers presenting a proof of complete vaccination shall also apply to minors accompanying one or more adult passengers presenting such proof.  A certificate of recovery corresponds to the presentation of the result of a biological examination of the virological screening carried out more than 11 days and less than six months before the flight, which concludes to a Covid-19 contamination.

    Travel requirements

    Kindly check that you have complied with all mandatory visa and travel documents for your travel, and the travel requirements at your final destination.

    The requirements for travel are laid out in the Government of India’s Guidelines for International Arrivals (17 Feb 2021) and the Government of India’s Orders for International Arrivals (31 Aug 2021), as well as the relevant state advisories.

    • The Indian Government requires that all travelers submit a Self-Declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal https://www.newdelhiairport.in/airsuvidha/apho-registration  at least 72 hours before the scheduled travel. A printed copy must be kept with the traveller at all times, to be  presented to the Check-in Officer at SSR International Airport and to the airport health staff upon arrival.
    • Passengers are also required to upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report on the portal. This test should have been conducted within 72 hrs prior to undertaking the journey. Each passenger shall also submit a declaration with respect to authenticity of the report and will be liable for criminal prosecution, if found otherwise.

      The negative PCR test report must be presented at Check-in. 

    • You will have to give an Undertaking to abide by the decision of the appropriate government authority to undergo quarantine / self-monitoring of your health for 14 days, or as warranted. The Undertaking Form must be presented on arrival in India. The Undertaking Form can be downloaded here. Passengers shall mandatorily be subjected to 14 days home quarantine. Medical doctors returning on the same flight are exempted from quarantine.
    • As from 3 September 2021, international passengers arriving from/transiting through specific countries including Mauritius and South Africa, will be mandatorily subjected to a RT-PCR test  on arrival at Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, at their own expense at INR 600 per test. Passengers should complete the Common Lab Registration Form prior to arrival in Mumbai Airport. Children below the age of 10 are exempted from PCR test.

    Unaccompanied minors (UM) and passengers with special needs can be accompanied inside the departure area.

    It is mandatory for all passengers wear a surgical mask from the time they reach SSR International airport to the time they leave the airport at destination which includes boarding, during the entire flight and at deplaning. Please note that passengers not complying with these sanitary measures imposed by the relevant authorities will be denied boarding. Two surgical masks and one face shield will be handed over to you at check-in.

    Information on your baggage allowance is included on your ticket. Cabin baggage is limited to one piece weighing not more than 7 kg. Note that no single baggage weighing more than 32 Kg will be accepted at check in.

    Should you be a Gold or Silver Kestrelflyer, you are eligible for one additional piece of 20 kg on presentation of your valid membership card.

    Arrival

    All passengers will be subject to a RT-PCR test and medical screening upon arrival and any passenger found to be symptomatic shall be immediately isolated and taken to medical facility as per the health protocol in India.
