Air Mauritius was incorporated on 14 June 1967, a few months before the country became independent. Over more than 50 years, Air Mauritius has carved out a key role as the national airline of Mauritius, providing air connectivity that has been crucial for the development of the island.

Air Mauritius has also provided an important channel over the years for travellers looking to visit Mauritius with direct connections from multiple destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Indian Ocean, boosting the Mauritian economy.

Air Mauritius flies direct to 13 destinations and offers more than 50 destinations through our partner airlines.

As from October 2024, Air Mauritius will resume its non-stop operations to Geneva.

Besides, in addition to being certified as a duly approved Mauritian Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) maintenance organisation, Air Mauritius is also European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) compliant, which means that we can undertake the maintenance of aircraft registered in Europe.

First operator worldwide to operate both new-generation airbus A350-900 XWB and A330-900 Neo aircraft

Air Mauritius became the first operator of a combination of new-generation wide-bodied Airbus A350-900 XWB and A330-900 Neo aircraft and is among the airlines with the youngest wide-bodied fleet in the world.

The Air Mauritius A350-900 and the A330-900 Neo aircraft are equipped with the airline’s latest cabin products, including new generation full flat seats in Business Class with direct aisle access, more comfortable Economy Class seats, state-of-the-art inflight entertainment systems with full HD screens and WIFI for passengers in both classes. The Airbus Airspace Cabin, which is present on both the A350-900 and A330-900 Neo aircraft, offers more personal space and larger overhead storage bins.

For the high quality of its service on the ground and in the air, Air Mauritius has not only been rated a 4-Star airline by SKYTRAX but has also received several international awards recognising the value rendered to our passengers, including several distinctions at the prestigious World Travel Awards for Leading Airline.

The Amédée Maingard lounge at the SSR International airport in Mauritius has been awarded the best airport lounge in the Indian Ocean in 2021 and for the third consecutive year by the World Travel Awards.
