Visit the famous ''Château de Labourdonnais'' and gardens enclosing century-old trees and spice plants. Enjoy local products tasting such as jams, fruit pastes, and juices, followed by delicious authentic lunch at ''La Table du Château''. Stop by ''La Boutique du Château'' and shop for locally made products and souvenirs.

Located in Moka, Eureka is a beautiful colonial house surrounded by lush gardens, cascading river, and a waterfall. It is one of the best places to experience the history and culture of Mauritius, surrounded by natural beauty and Mount Ory Peak as a backdrop. You can also treat yourself to a delicious Mauritian lunch after the visit.

Further north of Mauritius, Pamplemousses Village invites you to visit the Sugar Adventure Museumknown as ''L'Aventure du Sucre''. It is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the history of sugarcane in Mauritius and learn how the sugar industry played a significant role in the island's development. Discover the old factory, including stages of sugar production, and taste different types of sugar. End your visit with lunch at Le Frangourin restaurant.

Known as a former immigration depot, Aapravasi Ghat is one of Mauritius's most significant relics. It is where indentured labourers were disembarked before being sent to work across the island's sugarcane fields. Over the years, Aapravasi Ghat became an exchange point for all foreign workers, and this historic site was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006.

Stop by Port-Louis during your visit and embark on a cultural tour in the bustling streets. Discover the local market with its colorful fruits and vegetables stalls. Shop from a selection of spices and handicraft products to bring back home. Try local flavours such as ''dholl puri, gâteaux piments'' or let yourself be tempted by a refreshing ''Alouda'' drink.

Did you know? The landscape of Le Morne was once a refuge for runaway slaves where they used to hide in small caves. Le Morne is a majestic mountain jutting out into the Indian Ocean, and it symbolizes the struggles of slaves for freedom. Le Morne was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008 and encloses one of Mauritius's most beautiful beaches.
