Connect and Protect’ focuses on the Pink Pigeon, a vulnerable and endemic bird to Mauritius.

The Pink Pigeon (Nesoenas mayeri), once reduced to just 10 individuals in the 1990s, now has a population of around 600.

Despite this recovery, it remains vulnerable due to habitat loss, invasive species and genetic concerns.

Long-term conservation efforts contribute largely to protect this unique species which feeds on fruits, seeds, leaves and buds.
