Air Mauritius wishes to inform the public that a technical issue affecting one of the engines of an ATR 72-600 operating to Reunion occurred today, 14 September 2026, on flight MK 208.
The flight crew followed the established procedures to secure the affected engine and subsequently carried out a normal landing at Roland Garros Airport in Saint-Denis, Réunion.
In accordance with established procedures, the airport emergency services were present to receive the aircraft upon arrival. At no point in time was there an engine fire or a passenger evacuation carried out, as wrongly reported by some local media in Reunion,
All 34 passengers and 04 crew members disembarked normally and safely after landing.
The aircraft has been withdrawn from service in Reunion for a full technical inspection.
Passengers booked on the return flight MK209 have been re-accommodated on the next available flight.
