Mauritius: Ranked the Safest Destination in Africa

Mauritius once again stands out as a dream getaway—this time earning the title of the safest travel destination in Africa. Ranked 22nd in the 2024 Global Peace Index, the island even surpasses Spain, further reinforcing its status as a tropical haven where safety meets natural beauty.

From soft sandy beaches and crystal-clear lagoons to lush greenery, every corner of the island offers something unique. Marine life enthusiasts will be enchanted by Blue Bay Marine Park, while nature lovers and hiking fans will be captivated by the sweeping views of Black River Gorges National Park and Macchabée Forest, not to mention the scenic Alexandra Falls.

In the island’s southwest lies the charming village of Chamarel, home to the iconic Seven Coloured Earths, a rare geological site known for its vibrant, layered sand dunes. The village also features Chamarel Waterfall, the highest on the island, and attractions like an adventure park, Curious Corner Museum, and the Chamarel Rum Distillery.

Along the western coast, Flic en Flac and Le Morne boast elegant beachfront resorts and vibrant sunsets in a laid-back atmosphere. Head north and you'll find Grand Baie, once a humble fishing village, now transformed into a luxury hub blending high-end shops, gourmet restaurants, and thrilling water sports.
